"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty" Maya Angelou
Our projects are collaborations and conversations that emerge over time and in different spaces. Through our projects we explore issues, collaborative methodologies and innovations as a way of furthering social transformation through the knowledge and experience of ordinary people.
CONVERSATIONS 4 CHANGE (C4C)
Conversations 4 Change (C4C) bring together diverse people to share, explore and make sense of what is happening in the world. Each conversation is convened around a core question. As a type of action learning, these spaces draw on people’s experiences, practice and ideas. They generate reflection on the self, the situation and the social. C4C aim to build connections, so that the ideas and actions evolve with the group and are self sustaining. C4C draw on a range of participatory and creative methods, they are captured in real time and offer insight and evidence into the issues being discussed, which can be used to influence policy and practice. They are also change focused in that the process aims to promote both personal and social transformation through individual and collective strategies.
The first C4C was convened in March 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. It bought together a group of individuals from different countries to share personal experiences and stories, reflect on the situation in real time and imagine visions for our future. This C4C meets weekly online.
Our current C4C explores the question: What are we learning from the present situation about how we live and work?
Our #CoLabs are co-learning and co-creative spaces which open-up for a period and bring different people together to generate collective dialogue and action around questions that matter. CoLabs cultivate community-led research, learning and action.
